Sunshine Award

I’ve received the Sunshine Award from Qwillia Rain, one of my cohorts over at Kinky Ever After. This fun award requires I reveal ten things not many people know about me. I love to hike. Before husband and kids came along I’d throw a backpack on and wonder off into wilderness areas for days at a time. If it were an area where dogs were allowed I had my German Shepherd with me. If not, it was just me. My husband hiked with me some before we had kids, but now we consider camping in a tent right beside the car to be an adventure. I lived in China a while. Follow the link to my Pinterest Favorite Places board and take a look at the karst mountains surrounding Guilin. Yeah, I’ve climbed a few of those. You’ll also see some of the areas I enjoy hiking close to where I live now – some of which have made it into my books. (I recently joined Pinterest, there isn’t much up yet, I need to spend some time linking to more books, especially.) I came of age in the 80’s and like 80’s music. My favorite internet radio station is Club 977’s 80’s channel (clicking link will open their player in a new window and start the music). My oldest daughter is no longer a fan of 80’s music, so I’m learning to like current music, too. (Again, clicking link will open player in a new window and start the music). I used to be a dancer, but an injury ended things years earlier than I was ready to stop. I was best at ballet, but most of the jobs I got were for Broadway type shows (but in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida – not on Broadway). […]

Twitter Virgin – Please be gentle

I consider myself to be fairly tech savvy. I was on the internet before images were, and I’ve learned all of the new tech things as they’ve been programmed into life. For various reasons, I never took the Twitter plunge. Maybe it sounded to cutesy at first? I don’t know, it just didn’t appeal to me. However, I’ve decided I need to change that, so I created an account last night, and attempted to give myself a crash course. I’ve read up on hashtags (Is there a list somewhere?), and read a few dozen Twitter Etiquette lists, and I think I understand the basics of how the software works, but if I make a horrible faux pas, someone please tell me. If you’d like to follow me, I’m pretty sure this is the link to do it.
