Chocolate, Roses and Handcuffs Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the Chocolate, Roses and Handcuffs Giveaway Hop! The question of the day is: If this Valentines Day you get handcuffs from your partner, what message would you like to see on the gift tag? First, I have to point out how impracticable handcuffs are. They’re unforgiving metal and they almost always press on this one particular nerve, no matter how you try to relax your wrists. So I’m gonna answer the question as if I’m receiving soft leather wrist cuffs, instead. My DH has been known to text me to check my email while I’m at work, and when I check my personal email I find a note to go home and put my ankle and wrist cuffs on, and to set up a variety of toys. Perhaps the note will say to lay out a particular flogger and cane; or nipple clamps, a vibrating plug, and some zip ties; or any number of other things. Sometimes the instructions are just to be sure I’m lubed, stretched, and naked when he gets home. We’ve recently acquired one day a week our kids go straight to an extracurricular activity from school, and we have about forty five minutes of alone time before we have to go pick them up. This week the instructions were to meet him at the range so we could squeeze in some target practice. It was fun, but I’m hoping for something a little sexier next week. What kind of instructions would you like to see on a Valentines Note, and what toy would you most like to receive? I’ll give away the winner’s choice of Safeword: Davenport or Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon on Friday, February 8th.    There are three ways to enter. What’s on the Bookshelf reviews Safeword: Quinacridone

Jen at What’s on the Bookshelf reviewed Safeword: Quinacridone and seemed to enjoy it. Here are a few of the things she said: Candace has a knack of writing topics that I would never expect to like. She pushes the limits and makes you go beyond your comfort zone. At least for me since I’m not in the BDSM lifestyle at all. What I love about her books, and SAFEWORD QUINACRIDONE is no exception, is that her characters become real in no time at all. This is the story of meeting the person you’re supposed to spend your life with. Cara and Travis have unique wants and needs when it comes to sex, and Candace does a wonderful job showing you a different side of passion. I loved the way everything weaves together. The secondary characters add another layer to the story. If this is your type of read, then I recommend you give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

DelightedReader.com reviews Safeword: Quinacridone

Shari at Delighted Reader gave Safeword: Quinacridone a B+ and said: Candace Blevins has knocked my socks off with all her books. When asked to review Safeword: Quinacridone, I jumped at the chance. I never expect a light BDSM book with Candace. She writes honestly, but beautifully even if I can’t always get into some of the tougher scenes in her books. As I read the scenes of Cara being objectified, I was disturbed as well as interested to understand why. Why was I disturbed and why was she craving to be objectified? The objectification is pretty extreme in the story, not a light look into this kink. Darkly hard to read but beautifully written. Touched on some dark elements I am not sure I ever want to experience or possibly read about again. It hit “hard limits” with me and I can read a lot, lol. Above all the author has a wonderful writing style even if I am not comfortable with the subject matter. Would I read another Candace Blevins book? Yes, in a heartbeat. Her voice is rich, intriguing and hypnotic as it draws you into a world you may have never known existed. Check out Shari’s review to read the other nice things she said.

Happy Endings Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Happy Endings Giveaway Hop! What is it that makes us westerners insist upon happy endings? Don’t get me wrong — I’m all for ’em — but so many Asian cultures produce books with terrible endings; the more heartbreakingly ironic the ending, the better the story. Not only do I want a happy ending, sometimes I’m aggravated when there’s too much manufactured conflict. I was feeling this way when I wrote Safeword: Matte, and as a result we get to see two people coming together and finding their own path without a lot of drama thrown in from all directions. I’ll give away one copy of Safeword: Matte on Sunday, January 27th. There are three ways to enter — do all three and you’ll be entered three times, or do one and you’re entered once: Follow me on Facebook and let me know about it (email, comment, or FB message) Follow me on Twitter and let me know about it (email, comment, or Twitter me) Comment below. Bondage Awards — Runner Up

Color me shocked; I’m apparently the runner up in the 2012 Bondage Awards in the Bondage Writer category. Thank you to everyone who voted, and congrats to the winner, Kallypso Masters — couldn’t have gone to a nicer lady.

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews gives Five Stars and a True Gem award to Safeword: Quinacridone

Kitty Angel at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews gave Safeword: Quinacridone Five Stars, and a True Gem Award, and said: Some things are disturbing to this very vanilla person but, the way it was written was phenomenal! This was BDSM to the extreme -– not just whips, chains, hand-cuffs, floggers -– a total different BDSM that shows a true masochist and a true sadist at it’s best. Will I read more of Candace Blevins? Most definitely. I absolutely enjoy her characters. They are all totally different and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Safeword: Quinacridone gets 4.5 out of 5 kinks from KinkyBookReviews.com!

Reviews: Debbie at Kinky Book Reviews gave it 4.5 out of 5 kinks and said: I fell in love with the hero from the start. I was really in the moment at all times with this story and felt like I was fighting for this relationship right along with the characters. The scenes literally jumped off the page, sometimes making me want to run into Travis’s arms…sometimes away! Overall, this was an excellent and intense read. I feel that every book Ms. Blevins writes is better than the last and this was her best so far. I look forward to the next journey she takes us on. I also fear it a bit. _____________ You can see the blurb and one excerpt here, and another excerpt here. Safeword: Quinacridone is available at Amazon.

Naughty New Years Blog Hop

Welcome to the Naughty New Years Blog Hop! The magic cookie bars, chocolate chip cookies, and cheesecake are finally gone; and it’s time for me to eat right again. Once Nutcracker season was over — with lots and lots of exercise — I’ve only managed to work out twice in *looks at the calendar* three weeks. Uggg. I created a workout schedule and posted it on the back of the bathroom door, and asked my wonderful husband to be sure I stick to it for at least three months, as once I get back on a schedule it won’t be hard to keep to it. For those of you who know about our lifestyle, the consequences won’t be pretty if I miss a day and he doesn’t think I have an excellent reason for doing so. This most certainly falls into the be-careful-what-you-ask-for category. I also have a few writing oriented items on a checklist. Almost every beta reader for Safeword: Quinacridone wanted to know more about Papa Bear. Oddly enough, as I wrote the book I knew what his evening would be like when he left the art gallery, and I’ve decided to attempt a short story. So far I’ve proven incapable of writing anything short — they all end up novellas, or sometimes novels. However, if I keep the narrative to twelve hours, surely I can keep it below 10,000 words? We’ll see.    Once I’ve finished Papa Bear’s story I’ll finally begin the follow-up to Safeword: Matte. This book is likely going to be really long, as my outline is eleven pages. Do you have any New Year Resolutions? Let’s get to the good stuff: Today I’ll be giving away your choice of either of the Davenport books. There are three ways to enter for the prize […]
