Scorching Book Reviews BDSM Blog Hop

Welcome blog hoppers! I’m excited to be a part of a BDSM themed hop, so it seems appropriate to discuss some of the kink in my books.

The BDSM acronym covers a wide variety of kinks — B&D, D/s, S&M. The D/s portion is about power exchange, the S&M portion is about the giving and receiving of pain. Not everyone is into both aspects, there are submissives who don’t enjoy pain, and there are masochists who don’t submit. There are Tops who aren’t sadists, and there are sadists who don’t prefer to Dom.

In Safeword: Davenport Dana readily accepts she’s a masochist, but doesn’t think she can submit to anyone else, as she’s only submitted to her now deceased husband. She explores masochism without submission. And with.

There is much exploration in Safeword: Davenport and Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon — both physical and emotional, and from the Top as well as the bottom. The psychology of what it takes to Top is explored, as well as what it takes to surrender one’s power to another.

Safeword: Matte by Candace Blevins

Fair warning: I delve further into power exchange with these books than I have in my previous books, and the S&M is equal to the most intense scenes from Safeword: Rainbow. These are not “beginner” BDSM books. Everything is consensual, but it’s real pain, and as close as one can get to total surrender while sustaining a career.

Now, onto the free stuff: I’ll be giving away a copy of your choice of Safeword: Matte, Safeword: Davenport, or Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon on Monday evening, August 20th.

There are three ways to enter. Do all three and you’ll be entered three times, or do one and you’re entered once:

  1. Follow me on Facebook and let me know about it (email, comment, or FB message)
  2. Follow me on Twitter and let me know about it (email, comment, or Twitter me)
  3. Comment below.

If you’re already following me on Facebook or Twitter let me know who you are, and I’ll count it.

Here’s the blurb for Safeword: Davenport

Dana has never submitted to anyone but her husband — he trained her, taught her to submit. He’s been dead a year and a half though, and she’s beginning to consider the possibility of dating again. She sticks to vanilla at first, but quickly realizes she’s going to need more. As she’s considering the idea of finding someone who would enjoy hurting her without requiring her submission, her life is complicated by a Dom who pushes all of her buttons.

Safeword: Davenport is the first half of Dana’s story, it’s the personal part of her journey, and has a Happy for Now ending. Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon is scheduled for release August 3, 2012, and will give the rest of her story.

Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, bondage, intense sensory deprivation, extreme electrical play, enemas, and the use of toys including clamps, canes, plugs, cages, paddles, whips, and floggers.

Here’s the blurb for Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon

Dana is ready to submit to Zach, but she’s going to be surprised by the depth of her submission. She’s comfortable Dominating Jacob, but how will the four of them form a unit?

Zach thought he’d worked through his issues, and he was patient with Dana as she worked through hers, but a painful reminder of the past makes him question whether he can accept Dana’s submission. Will he be able to handle being completely vulnerable once again?

Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, bondage, extreme electrical play, enemas, and the use of toys including clamps, canes, plugs, cages, paddles, whips, and floggers.

Here’s the blurb for Safeword: Matte

Matte, pronounced mah-tay, is the word used in some forms of martial arts to stop a fight. It’s the Japanese word for stop or wait. Sam (short for Samantha) has made a hobby out of learning the various fighting disciplines, but she also happens to be a sexual submissive. What better safeword than matte?

Sam wants to find someone to submit to who she can’t beat in a fight. She’s tried to make it work with men from the scene who know nothing about fighting, but it doesn’t feel real to her – she needs someone who can truly control her. However, after dating from the fight scene and discovering not all guys like to spank their girlfriends, she’s decided to just back away from the whole dating thing for a while… until Fate decides to step in.

Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, bondage, and use of toys including crops, clamps, canes, and floggers.
